Emergency Medical Technician: Initial Training Course
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) serve a vital role as part of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team. They provide initial, basic emergency medical care such as CPR, using an automatic defibrillator and bleeding control at the scene of emergency. EMTs also provide the patient transportation with an ambulance service or other specialized service. This initial training course provides the student with the knowledge and practical skills needed to take the NJ State Certifying Examination.

The Trinitas Regional Medical Center Institute of Healthcare and Community Education's EMT initial training course is a rigorous program that consists of instructor led classroom lessons, online work, homework assignments, online quizzes, hands on skill practice and evaluations. An AHA Basic Life Support course (CPR) is incorporated into each EMT course for the student. Trinitas students have the opportunity to observe and participate during clinical rotations in Triage, Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy, and Cardiac Care areas.

Our instructors have decades of educational experience teaching the EMT initial training course. At Trinitas Regional Medical Center, our students benefit from learning and training with the variety of experienced EMTs, paramedics, nurses and physicians who make up our team of educators.

Emergency Medical Technician: EMT Refresher/Transition Course
The EMT Refresher/Transition Course reviews the core knowledge and skills required for the EMT to recertify in New Jersey through classroom instruction, written exams and practical evaluations. The course is offered in 3 classes. Each class awards the student 8 CEUs. Students may choose to enroll in Part A, Part B, or Part C separately.
