TRINITAS SLEEP CENTER EXPANDS TO CRANFORD
Expansion to extended-stay suites marks a first in New Jersey
Faced with rising demand for overnight and daytime sleep studies, the Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center at Trinitas Regional Medical Center signed a long-term lease with Homewood Suites by Hilton, Cranford, to convert a two-bedroom suite into monitored sleep study space. The deal represents the first-ever expansion of a hospital sleep center into a hotel in New Jersey and the New York City region. Trinitas conducted 1,320 sleep studies in its existing 4-bed sleep center in 2009, and expects the new two-bedded hotel-based facility to bring in an additional 600 studies this year.
"Our Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center experienced phenomenal growth in recent years, and we were faced with the need to expand in order to reduce the long wait that patients experienced in getting an appointment for a sleep study," explained Gary S. Horan, FACHE, President & Chief Executive Officer of Trinitas Regional Medical Center. He added, "We were thrilled to be able to expand our sleep center into Homewood Suites, which has a two-bedroom suite that meets our needs perfectly."
"Patients feel more comfortable and at home in an establishment like Homewood Suites thatís designed for a restful environment," noted Nancy DiLiegro, PhD, FACHE, Vice President of Clinical Services at Trinitas. "The suite is equipped with monitoring equipment and is manned at all times by at least two certified sleep technologists. Each sleep study patient has his or own private bedroom with private bath. These amenities, plus the best available technology, combine to make the patientís experience in the hotel setting as close as possible to their home environment. Patients can also enjoy all the amenities of Homewood Suites such as a hot breakfast, high-speed internet, use of the exercise room and business center, and convenient parking."
"All of us here at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, are thrilled to have Trinitasí Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center call us their new home. Our relationship has really blossomed, and we look forward to serving their patients in genuine Homewood style. The future will most certainly bring success for us all," explained Adam Greenberg, General Manager, Homewood Suites Cranford.
Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center at Trinitas Regional Medical Center conducts overnight and daytime sleep studies in order to diagnose and treat conditions that are preventing restful sleep and causing daytime drowsiness as a result. Testing for both adults and children can diagnose problems such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, insomnia, gastroesophegeal reflux and more.
