TRINITAS RECEIVES SLEEP EQUIPMENT FOR FREE DISTRIBUTION
Center receives National Sleep Foundation Award to help patients
The Trinitas Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center, with locations in Elizabeth and Cranford, New Jersey, has been named one of eight participants in the National Sleep Foundation's "NSF Gives Back" program. Trinitas will distribute free of charge continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) equipment, donated by Philips Respironics, to uninsured or underinsured patients at its center.
"By bringing together Philips Respironics and our participating member sleep centers, we are making it possible for 1,000 sleep apnea sufferers to have access to needed care," said David Cloud, CEO of the National Sleep Foundation. "Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition that if left untreated can have dangerous consequences."
"Philips Respironics is proud to work with the National Sleep Foundation to make it possible to help patients in need," said David White, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Philips Respironics.
Trinitas Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center in the Central New Jersey region and the Center for Sleep Medicine at Capital Health System in Mercer County are the only New Jersey centers that are NSF Sleep Care Center Member Winners in this special program. Centers in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio round out the select group of winning sleep centers across the country.
Trinitas Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2009 and received a re-accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine earlier this year. In order to respond to the demands of increased patient volume, the Center recently expanded to Homewood Suites by Hilton in Cranford, New Jersey, where a two-bedroom suite is the first facility in the state to be converted into an area for monitored sleep studies.
The Trinitas Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center has treated adult and pediatric patients from Central and Northern New Jersey, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island, New York, Pennsylvania, and as far away as Maine.
