DR. FROST ACHIEVES PRESTIGIOUS "MASTERY OF BREAST SURGERY PROGRAM" DESIGNATION
Trinitas surgeon adds to "Top Doctor for Women" honors
James Frost, MD, FACS, who is affiliated with Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center, has received the Mastery of Breast Surgery Program designation from the American Society of Breast Surgeons Board of Directors. Dr. Frost, widely recognized as an accomplished surgeon, is a member of Advanced Surgical Associates based in Springfield.
As noted on the American Society of Breast Surgeons website, the Mastery of Breast Surgery Program is a voluntary quality improvement initiative designed to help surgeons document their clinical performance of breast procedures, as well as their care of breast cancer patients and patients at risk for breast cancer. Participants participate in continuous data collection using the program modules that best meet their reporting needs. The program is divided into several areas of interest including risk assessment, percutaneous procedures, surgery, and cancer. The program was developed in response to the need to document quality outcomes in patient care, and for individual surgeons to know and be able to report their performance. The goal of the program is to provide the surgeon with the tools to meet this challenge via a voluntary reporting system, open to all surgeons, to report on all breast surgical procedures for both benign and malignant disease. To qualify for the program, participants provide 16 hours of breast specific Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits completed within two years prior to registering for the Mastery of Breast Surgery Program. Examples of breast specific CME courses include education in breast surgical techniques, breast imaging, radiation physics, breast disease risk assessment, radiation or medical oncology, practice management for breast surgical practices, quality improvement or public reporting of quality measures programs.
Dr. Frost attended Universidad Auntoma De Guadalajara, the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and is board certified in surgery and laparoscopic surgery. He has earned numerous honors including being among the "2010 Top Doctors for Women" in the list published in Inside Jersey Magazine. In addition, Dr. Frost has been one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area every year from 2001-2010.
