You are not alone!
The American Academy of Orthopedics reports that 500,000 total knee replacement surgeries are performed each year. Such surgeries help individuals who experience pain and loss of motion and strength that adversely effects their daily lives and their ability to engage in social and athletic activities. While most knee replacements surgeries are performed on those over age 65, more and more people under that age have successfully undergone knee replacement. No matter the age of the patient, decreased pain and increased function are the main goals of knee replacement surgery.
