Collegiate Medical Mentoring

Trinitas' Collegiate Medical Mentoring program began in the summer of 2014. This exciting program is designed for students entering their junior or senior college year who are pursuing a career in medicine. Students will be under the direct supervision of an Attending Physician. The departments in which you will have the opportunity to shadow include the Emergency Room, OB/GYN, Hematology/Oncology, and Surgery.

About the Program
During the one month program, each student will receive an individual schedule rotating through the various departments. This schedule will change weekly. All students will have the opportunity to rotate through each department offered. Each Friday at 8:30AM, students will attend a lecture given by one of the attending Physician Supervisors.

How will this help me in my future career goals?
This dynamic program affords students an introduction to different specialties, environments, clinics and patient populations. It also gives students a unique window into the experiences of physicians in various specialties.

What some of our students had to say about our program:
"There is such a wide range of personalities, environments and opportunities even with the same hospital."

"Had the most memorable and meaningful experience."

"The program taught the complexity of the medical field in relation to working as a team in a professional environment."

This special program will run from June 1-26, 2020. A Full Day Mandatory Orientation is scheduled for May 27, 2020. The time commitment for the Collegiate Medical Mentoring program is 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
